Amy,
NH is using eDOT to do our 3HP when we can. We use a system that has been approved by our security folks. It is called Vidyo. It allows us to send them a link and they securely sign in and it is real time. No recorded episodes.

Hello,
1. How is your state administering 3HP? Is it by eDOT, self-administer etc.
2. Is your state using an home grown reporting system or off the shelf? If you are using an off the shelf system, which one and what are the cons to using it?
Thanks in advance,

Good Morning,
So, Colorado, outside of Denver Metro Area, is using DOPT when 3HP is given. We are utilizing vdot as much as possible but still have a few coming to the clinic for their doses. If the person
doesn't need DOPT, I go with Rifampin. I have at least one active patient who completed 3HP via DOPT for the full 12 doses who progressed to TB disease within a year of the treatment.
We are using an internal reporting system (created here).
Hope that helps, Amy. Have a wonderful day!

HI all,
Here in NM we are using EMOCHA for TB disease patients and TB infection patients both. It is a terrific platform – is definitely an investment – but I think will be very worth it in saving
nursing time and still have the comfort of ensuring that the patients are 1) not having any side effects 2) are ingesting all medications accurately 3)have documentation of the medication doses. Brenda Montoya in ABQ is the TB Nurse Consultant that is the
lead for education and training of the nurses for EMOCHA. If anyone wants to ask specific questions about EMCOHA I know she could answer them for you.
Take care,
Diana

In Colorado, there is language requiring DOT for pulmonary cases of TB but not extrapulmonary. It states it is recommended and preferred for extrapulmonary but it is only mandated
for infectious TB disease.
This may help too, Lana...https://www.cdc.gov/tb/programs/laws/menu/treatment.htm
