A picture based flip book may be helpful. I can dig a few up if you would like although you probably have access to the same onesJ

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Experience with pt with TB and Down Syndrome

Hello,

I received a request from a nurse who is case managing a 55 yo, Russian-speaking TB patient with Down syndrome and has hearing difficulties. The patient is currently hospitalized and will be discharged home soon to elderly parents.  The case manager is interested in learning if others have had experience working with down syndrome patients with hearing difficulties and if anyone has thoughts/suggestions/resources for how best to communicate with this patient regarding disease process, treatment, assessing for side effects, and managing DOT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Leslie
