We just implemented Emocha and have enrolled eligible patients, however, there are a number who we determined non-eligible and are not good candidates for this platform. The goal is to enroll eligible patients when they come for their monthly
evaluation so we don’t have to invite them on days they didn’t have to (limit exposure).
Thank you for those who attached sample DOT logs and instructions. We will have to decide on dose counting system especially considering our furlough days. Thank you all for your responses. It is unfortunate to be going through this situation
but we all have to be resilient during this unprecedented time. We will all get through and remain victorious over this novel Coronavirus (and TB challenges, of course!:))

Subject: DOT Dose Counting
Good morning everyone,
My name is Arcelyn Abas, I am nurse practitioner from City of Long Beach, Los Angeles County. I am currently acting as a lead for TB team and I would like to know your input on DOT. Our local health jurisdiction will start on implementing
furlough Fridays from October 2, 2020- October 2, 2021 and the plan is to conduct SAT on our patients on these days. To count, there will be a total of 26 days of SAT for this fiscal year. I am curious on any health jurisdictions that have gone furlough in
the past and how DOT was conducted and counted towards treatment. Did you consider treating it like doses on weekends and not count it? I understand that RVCT reporting guideline states,
” If a patient misses a DOT dose or there is a holiday during a medication week (i.e., DOT cannot be given that week), as long as DOT is used when the missed dose(s) is made up at the end of therapy, the dose(s) given at the end of therapy can be combined
with the last “partial DOT week” and counted as a “full DOT week.” If the patient can submit a video (Emocha) on weekends or furlough days, will you count it towards the treatment?
Our team would appreciate all your insights. Thank you.
